Audiologists
For over 35 years Ear, Nose and Throat Specialists of Wisconsin has been providing services to those with hearing loss. We evaluate and diagnose each patient's hearing and determine the best treatment option. Unlike the sales pitches from retail hearing aid manufacturers, we are an independent group that sells a variety of hearing aids-Siemens, Widex, ReSound, and more. The right hearing aid will improve the quality of your hearing and enrich your life. If your hearing loss is the result of a medical condition you have the advantage of seeing one of our physicians.
What is an Audiologist?
Hearing aids can be dispensed by either an audiologist or a hearing aid specialist. Audiologists are professionals who have completed graduate education and hold either a master's degree in arts or science (M.A. or M.S.), a doctorate degree in audiology (Au.D), or a doctorate degree in philosophy (Ph.D.) in the field of audiology. In addition, many practicing audiologists hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A), which is granted by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Further, in many states, including Wisconsin, audiologists must be licensed by the state to practice audiology.

When to see an Audiologist?
If you or a member of your family is experiencing any of the following problems, you may need a hearing aid. These symptoms may also indicate nothing more serious than impacted wax or an ear infection, which can be corrected. If you have ear pain, drainage, excess earwax, hearing loss in only one ear, sudden or rapid progressive hearing loss, or dizziness, it is especially important that you see one of our physicians to determine whether your problem can be medically corrected. If that is not the case, the physician will refer you to one of our audiologists and they will conduct a hearing assessment.
